"Rouge"
White ebony
as a baby and
as an adult.
RAZberry Chinchillas
Dangers Things That I do not suggest / safe things also.
Meet "Sun" she is our Star
Chinchilla on this page.
Sun only has 3 legs (she is
missing one back leg, she has
only a stump now),
she broke her leg in a cage, on
a wire ramp, that was 1 inch, by
1/2inch wire.

For those of you who do have a
cage with this size I suggest
getting a new one in honor of
Sun, that it could happen to any
chinchilla.
(some extra info, amputation
costs $250-$350.)
This is a close up picture of
1inch by 1/2 inch cage wire
that is not safe for a
chinchilla to be walking on,
for a floor or ramps.
These are my personal views and opinions they are not necessary correct. They are just
my opinion and suggestions.

THIS IS A BRAND NEW PAGE, UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!!! But has some good
info so far.

Water: Distilled Water. (I suggest spring water)

HAY RACKS- are very dangerous, they have broken many chinchillas legs and arms.
Picture coming soon. My suggestion is putting the hay in a ceramic dish.

Wheels (the big ones that are like a hamster wheel they say for chinchillas) picture
coming soon. I do not suggest hamster type wheels for chins being that most of them
are not safe. They usually do not have a large enough diameter. And this causes the
spine to be arched in the wrong direction. It can cause spine problems!!
Along with Hundreds of chins breaking their bones with wheels.
They only Type of safe wheel I am suggesting is the Flying Sauser pictured above.

Bedding, Care Fresh it is like fluffy paper, or cotton texture. I suggest Pine Shavings
they are safe.

Ceder Shavings, Ceder is a BIG NO!!!!! KILLS CHINCHILLAS.

Balls- they do not have much air flow aloud threw these and Chinchillas have over
heated and died in them.

PLASTIC, Houses, Cages, Ramps.

Electrical Wires, be very careful to supervise when ever your chin is out.

Cage floor Wire. It is not safe for Chinchillas to walk on 1in by 1/2in wire squares.
Picture of SUN coming soon. She is our 3 leg chinchilla due to a cage accident with
these type of bars. I suggest getting a cage from
www.martinscages.com if you are
looking for a chinchilla safe cage. I really like the martins chinchilla cages.

Dust, I do not suggest chinchilla SAND. It can scratch their eyes, and cuts up their
coat. Also it just does not clean good. I do suggest. #1 Blue Cloud, #2 Blue Sparkle.
You can get them from
www.lonestarchinchilla.com

Plastic Food dishes, I do suggest Ceramic Dishes.

Fish Tanks- Do not keep chinchillas in fish tanks they can over heat, and not get
enough air flow. Only keep them in chinchillas safe cages.

Direct Sunlight- keep them out of Direct sunlight.

UNSAFE WOOD- Ceder, Peach, (Pit fruit wood is unsafe) and more coming soon.

Good wood, safe wood, (if you are getting your own fresh wood, make sure that it has
not been sprayed with Chemicals.) Apple is one I suggest.

HEAT- if your home, or in a car if you are transporting chinchillas.
High Falls-
To many Treats even the good kind.
Any thing to close to the cage, example wires, curtains, blinds)

Carnivores (Example: Cat, Dogs, Ferrets and more)

Impaction, (towels, fabric, fleece)

Unsafe Hammocks

Open Toilets,

Children need to have supervision.

More coming as I think of them, picture too, sorry for spelling errors putting this
together very late.
(Good Dust)
Picture of Blue Cloud Dust,
the dust I use. This is the dust
and brand that I like alot and
would suggest you use also.
Flying Saucer (Good Wheel)
This is a picture of a safe wheel the wheel I suggest. It
is like a dinner plate the spins and the run in place
while it spins, also some of mine would stop when they
back on and do it again just for fun, if you can get one
for you chin I highly suggest it. (they are kind of large
so make sure you can fit it in your cage first, or if you
order a Martins cage(cages I suggest) and build it, you
can put it in while you are building it.
DO NOT SUGGEST!!!!
Chinchilla Exercise Ball
(they can easly over
heat!! It has killed many
chinchillas)
