Chinchilla Check List
- Chinchilla Safe cage. (I suggest one from www.martinscages.com they have safe chinchilla cages, I have many of
them. And the Skyscraper is one of my favorites.)
- Water Bottle. (I suggest a glass one.)
- Ceramic Food Dish Medium Size. (about 4 inches acrost, 2 inches deep, this is for the pellets if you have two
chins some times they can share a pellet dish.)
- Ceramic Food Dish Small Size. (about 1 inch across and just a little deep, this is for the grain supplement.
Remeber you only feed about 2 pinches per night, so it does not need to be a large dish. And you will need to have one per
each chinchilla you have.)
- Pine Bedding (Pine is the only bedding we suggest. I do not suggest Carefresh at all!!!!! And Never Ceder.)
- Wood House (If you are going to make your own make sure you use untreated lumber and also I suggest Pine.)
- Chinchilla Food (We give a free care package with purchase of our chinchillas it is enough food for a week or two.
***Please check out our food link for those suggestions)
- Ka-Bob (I suggest getting one they really love them.)
- Pumice Stone / Lava Bites (Chinchilla teeth never stop growing their entire life, Orange teeth are healthy teeth)
- Hay / Hay cubes (Alfalfa and Timothy Orchard grass mix would be a ideal.)
- Wood chews (Apple Branches, any other wood check to see if it is safe first, and always if you are getting them your self
make sure the treated with any chemicals and the wood must be dried before you can give it and this takes a while from what I
understand.)
- Perches (we have wood Perches for sale $4each)
- Marble / Chinchilla Cooler (A cool stone that your chin can set on, some people like to put it in the freezer.)
- Emergency Vet Number ***Last but not least, just incase you ever need it. Also please
make sure it is a vet that sees chins on a regular basis not just says they will see them.
